North Shore, Morning Fog

North Shore, Morning Fog came from a trip up to Lake Superior where the fog sat so thick on the water that the horizon simply disappeared. I set up on the rocks and painted from memory as much as sight, letting the granite dissolve into the mist. It's less a record of a place than of the hush that settles over you when scale becomes impossible to measure.
